Ozurgeti Folklore Center Construction in Completion Phase

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation works for Administrative building of State Foklore Center Ozurgeti Office. The project is funded by the Government of Georgia and its cost exceeds GEL  1.6 million

  
Giorgi Shengelia – Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia and Merab Chanukvadze – Governor of Guria Region were visiting the ongoing project site. 
The building was in emergency state.  Under the project, interior of the building was completely refurbished; currently façade finishing works are in progress.    The building will be adapted to the needs of disabled. 
Upon completion of rehabilitation works, Ozurgeti Folklore Center will accommodate archive and sound recording studios. It will host unique materials collected by Anzor Erkomaishvili.   West Georgian bands will no longer have to visit Tbilisi for recording their songs. 
Construction works were launched in October, 2016 and will be completed in September of current year. The project will promote development of folk-tourism in the Region.
