Coast-protection works in progress in Batumi

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing coast-protecting works in Batumi. The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank and its cost exceeds GEL 55 million. 

Tornike Rizhvadze – Head of Autonomous Government of Ajara and Giorgi Shengelia – Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia inspected the ongoing project site.

Batumi coast-protection project provides for arrangement of approximately 2 km long coast-protecting structure, restoration of the coastline and full rehabilitation of damaged Boulevard.   12 pedestrian bridges of 20 meter length and 1,5 meter width will be arranged  for connection of the Boulevard with the restored section of coastline.  

Coast-protection works in Batumi will be completed by the end of 2019.
