World Bank to proceed with financing of large scale infrastructural projects
The Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF) Mr. Giorgi Shengelia conducted the meeting with the World Bank (WB) representatives. The Parties at the meeting talked about infrastructural projects, undergoing implementation with the support of the WB and scheduled the plans of future cooperation.
The WB has been cooperating with MDF for many years. Through financing of WB there have been executed large scale projects, such as: Rehabilitation-construction of Batoni Palace and a Museum and Arrangement of Tourist Infrastructure at Khertvisi Castle Complex. With funding from the WB there are being implemented also the projects as follows: rehabilitation of Abastumani astrophysical observatory, rehabilitation of historical timber houses in Abastumani, rehabilitation of Zugdidi Botanic Garden and other numerous infrastructural projects of significant character. Implementation of above referenced projects supports to employment of local population, improvement of their social and economic conditions and increase of the tourist flow.
