EBRD will finance the projects at the total cost of EUR.14 mln. in Georgia

 Deputy Minister of  Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Giorghi Solomonia and Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Elguja Khokrishvili met with the representatives of  EBRD.  Following the Ministry, the MDF also hosted the meeting with   representatives of EBRD, which together with the Executive Director was also attended by his Deputy Teimuraz Murgulia.     

At the meeting the parties discussed issues of cooperation between public and private sectors and projects to be implemented in terms of enhancing power efficiency.  The parties agreed that this aspect of their cooperation will actively continue in future as well.   

                                                             

At the meeting in the Ministry, it was also decided that the EBRD will finance a solid waste management project to the sum of EUR.14 mln. in Kvemo Kartli.  

Out of the total amount, the EBRD will extend EUR.4 mln. as a grant to Georgia, while EUR.10 mln will be allocated in the form of a long-term loan.  The “Solid Waste Management Company” LTD operating under administration of the    Ministry of  Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia expressed its readiness to get actively involved in project implementation and skilful performance of works. Preparation of the appropriate agreement will commence in the near future and be finalized before the end of the year.  

 

The donor organization expressed its willingness to assist in ropeway construction project implementation.    According to the Georgian side, negotiations with the French side on the above-mentioned issue are ongoing.  Decision on involvement of the EBRD in this project and on extent of its involvement will be made through coordinated cooperation with the Minsitry of Finance of Georgia.
