Works progress for Tbilisi-Rustavi Road under active process

Tbilisi-Rustavi road undergoes active construction. The project at the cost of GEL 119 million considers construction of the most difficult section of up to 7 km length. 

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) Zurab Alavidze along with the Director of the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) Gagi Buadze inspected the works on site.  Minister inspected pace of project progress and quality of works.

Total length of all three sections of Tbilisi-Rustavi highway exceeds 17 km. At present, the second section is under construction process. The referenced road is linked with Azerbaijani border and its modernization is of significant character from transit standpoint. Upon project finalization, population will be able to commute and travel in a safe and comfortable manner. 

The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The works were commenced in March 2017 and are be finalized in 2019.
