Tourism Infrastructure arrangement by Sapara Monastery at finalization stage

Arrangement of tourism infrastructure with the support of the World Bank by Sapara Monastery in Akhaltsikhe is at finalization stage. Basic current works are completed. The project cost exceeds half million GEL. The Project undergoes implementation by the Municipal Development Fund.

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Zurab Alavidze inspected the quality of accomplished works within monitoring over projects and acquainting with progress of works throughout regions, being conducted systematically by him.

The works for rehabilitation of the 7-km road, accessing Sapara Monastery were completed last year. The second stage of works undergo execution as of to date. The Souvenirs Shop and Entrance Gate are to be constructed within the project in the vicinity of the Monastery and Monastery Access Road will be applied with stone pavement as well.

Starting from November the locals and tourists will have the tourism infrastructure, meeting the requirements of modern standards and being adapted for the people with disabilities.
