Tourist Infrastructure Arranging at Ubisa Monastery

The works for arrangement of tourist infrastructure at Ubsisa Monastery undergo implementation by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF) with co-financing of the World Bank and the Government of Georgia. Partial restoration works for roofing and gateway are being carried out simultaneously. MDF Representative Levan Sukhitashvili has conducted the site visit. The project aims at contributing to maintenance of cultural heritage monuments and rendering assistance to development of tourist infrastructure throughout Georgia.

Within the project the following will be arranged at Ubisa Monastery: Information Center, Parking Lot, Monastery Access Road and a WC. The project cost exceeds GEL 2 million. Main beneficiaries of the project are local population, whose social conditions will be improved, whilst the tourists visiting the region will be enabled to get familiar with Imereti Cultural Heritage Monuments in improved conditions and apply proper infrastructure being in the vicinity.
