July 13, 2017

The Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Kobuleti has been placed into service. The MDF representative Levan Sukhitashvili has conducted the site visit to inspect the plant. Due to commissioning of the new WWTP the sanitary sewage will not enter the sea any more what in its turn will improve significantly the sanitary condition of the coastline, reduce adverse impact on environment and impede dissemination of various infectious diseases. The total cost of the project exceeds GEL 5 800 000. The Project was implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Whilst technical equipment has been purchased by MDF  by means of Grant by Government of Holland.

It needs to be noted as well that the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia schedules to construct 27 Biological Treatment Plants up to 2020.
