The Khobi Convent was constructed in XIII-XIV centuries, it is paled within an enclosure,  which has a two-storey palace built-in in the western part. The palace is partially destroyed and only fragments of exterior walls are remaining.     The project envisages complete rehabilitation of the palace -   demolished walls, inter-floor covering and tiled ridge roof  will get restored,  floors and door-widows will be installed on all levels.  The works are under implementation in cooperation with the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia and are funded from the state budget.  The issue of preservation of the cultural heritage monument is of national and public importance. The rehabilitation project will not solely contribute to preservation of the cultural heritage monument, but also promote local tourism development in Khobi Municipality.
