Water Supply System undergoing rehabilitation in Kareli Municipality

Juansher Burchuladze, Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has conducted the site visit for rehabilitation works of Water Supply System in Kareli. The project undergoes implementation with the European Investment Bank financing at the cost of GEL 2 million 500 thousand.

Kareli Municipality residents are provided with 10-hour water supply. Upon completion of works the local residents will be provided with 24-hour water supply.

Arranging of main water network, branches and connection of the subscribers has been completed as of today. There were arranged 18-meter polyethylene pipeline along with the branches at total length of 4890 m.

There are left to be executed rehabilitation works for the reservoir and as per request of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia, instead of reconstructing the chlorination unit and pump station there are to be carried out additional works for arranging of 1600 m D-315 mm polyethylene pressure pipeline.

The works were commenced in May 2015 and are to be finalized in autumn of the current year. There are employed up to 50 people at works.
