August 18, 2016

Village road of Rodinauli Village of Zestaponi Municipality is being rehabilitated by Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI). Today Executive Director of MDF Juansher Burchuladze has visited the site for seeing the progress of rehabilitation works.

For several tens of years residents of Rodinauli Village had been arriving in Zestaponi via bypass - main road. Internal village road connecting village directly to the administrative center of the Municipality is actually cancelled because of uselessness.

The section to be rehabilitated starts at the turn of Zestaponi-Baghdati vehicle road and its total length makes up 15 km. The width of the restored road bed will reach 8.5 m, whereas the width of the carriageway will be 6 m. The works envisaged under the project will include as follows: subgrade restoration, cleaning and arranging of ditches. As for the road bed – lower layer will be covered with crushed rock, whereas the upper layer will be coated with armored concrete pavement.  The project also envisages: arranging of road connections with sand-gravel mixture, there will be arranged the metal conduit pipes on connections and road crossings as well. The bridge being on Kvirila River will be covered with asphalt-concrete pavement. Damaged rails of the bridge will be replaced and reinforced-concrete retaining wall will be built. Road rehabilitation project envisages arranging of traffic signs as well.

The project implementation is undergoing with the financial support of EIB. GEL 4 377 067.53 has been allocated towards the road restoration works. There are employed up to 40 people at construction.

Road rehabilitation will facilitate movement of Rodinauli Village residents on the territory of the village as it will take much less time to be connected with Zestaponi Administrative Center.
