August 12, 2016

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia  is implementing rehabilitation works for the  villages Meore Sviri and Sadguri Sviri connecting road in Zestaponi Municipality.  Two villages’ connecting 7,5 km road rehabilitation project is funded by the World Bank and Government of Georgia.    Project cost amounts to GEL  2,595,144.31.  Juansher Burchuladze - the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia  has visited the project site.

It is notable that the named road has not been subjected to rehabilitation since the 80-ies of past century.  Due to the above-mentioned fact, the concrete pavement is actually  destroyed and it is impossible to travel on it. Before project commencement, it took half an hour to drive along this section, following project completion travel time will be reduced to 10 minutes.

There are 60 persons employed at the project site. The 7,5 km road width is 6 meters.  Under the project, 18 cm armored cement/concrete pavement, surface water drainage network, water conduit pipes,   reinforced concrete channels and profiled   earth canals  will be arranged along the full length of the road.  Moreover, the project also envisages installation of road signs for safety purposes.  The project was launched in January and will be completed in September of current year.
