Rehabilitation of Internal Roads and Bridges Ongoing in Lentekhi Municipality

Juansher Burchuladze - the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia was visiting the project site of rehabilitation works for   internal roads and bridges in Lentekhi Municipality.  The project funded by the World Bank is under implementation by the   Municipal Development Fund of Georgia and its cost amounts to GEL    943 000.

The works are ongoing in several locations simultaneously, the road bridges are being rehabilitated in villages Tvibi (on the river Mukhura), Cheleshi and Durashi.   The new bridge will be constructed in the direction of the village Mami-Ediki.   Moreover, street improvement works are in progress in village Lentekhi. 

There are approximately 1700 inhabitants in Lentekhi Municipality.  There have no repair works been conducted for the unserviceable bridges installed several decades ago, which is causing numerous problems to the locals.

Following work completion, the local population will benefit from the facilitated connection with the villages of Lentekhi Municipality and District Center, which will considerably improve their living conditions. There are more than 50 persons employed at the project sit. Works were launched in April of current year and will be completed in spring of 2017.
