Wastewater Treatment Plant Under Construction in Kobuleti

Ilia Darchiashvili - First Deputy Minister of Regional Developmnt and Infrastructure of Georgia was visiting wastewater treatment plant construction work project site in Kobuleti.   

The project envisages construction of the water treatment reservoir and  operations premise.  Underground utilities will be put into order.  The adjacent area will get landscaped and improved.After completion of construction works, wastewater will undergo treatment on permanent basis, which will minimize contaminated water  discharge into the existing ponds and sea  and solve the longstanding problem for Kobuleti population and tourists.

Project cost amounts to GEL 5,867,300. The project backed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Government of Netherlands and Government of Ajara is being implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.  In course of project works, about 300-400 persons will be employed gradually at the project site.
