Tourist infrastructure to be arranged by Ubisa Monastery

The Municipal Development Fund of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia carries out the tourist infrastructure arranging works by Ubisa Monastery in Imereti Region with co-funding of the WB and GoG. Restoration works of the Monastery are under implementation as well. The First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili and an Executive Director of MDF Juansher Burchuladze have visited construction works. The project aims at contributing to maintenance of cultural heritage sites and rendering assistance to development of tourist infrastructure in Georgia.

By Ubisa Monastery there are scheduled to be arranged as follows: Information Center, Parking Lot, Access Road to the Monastery and a WC. Project Cost amounts to GEL 1 422 609. Along with the tourist infrastructure arranging Ubisa Monastery is undergoing restoration process too. Main beneficiaries of the project are locals whose social conditions will be improved, whereas the tourists, visiting the region will be able to get familiar with the cultural heritage monuments of Imereti region in improved conditions and consume properly operational infrastructure, being in the vicinity of the sites.
