Davit Narmania and Elguja Khokrishvili Met Representatives of Asian Development Bank

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Narmania and Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Elguja Khokrishvili met with representatives of Asian Development Bank.  At the meeting the parties discussed progress of infrastructural projects funded under the Sustainable Urban Transport Investment Program (SUTIP).

There are a number of significant infrastructural projects ongoing in Georgia under the above-mentioned program, which inter alia includes construction of Tbilisi-Rustavi highway.    Construction works for this highway will commence in Spring. The project will be implemented by the Chinese company  SINOHYDRO CORPORATION LIMITED, which has already made a commitment to employ citizens of Georgia as unskilled labor.    

The Sustainable Urban Transport Investment Program will also cover the following projects: construction of the “University” metro station in Tbilisi, Batumi coastline protection works, and such other major projects.      Those present at the meeting also discussed priority areas to be funded under the next tranche.
