April 4, 2016

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation works for villages Tsodniskari- Tela-Pataragori-Kabala connecting road in Lagodekhi Municipality.  Length of the road to be rehabilitated is 6 km and project cost amounts to GEL 2, 300, 000. The project is funded by the World Bank with co-financing from the Government of Georgia.   Today, the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili and Executive Director of the   Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze were visiting the project site.

The road, which is connecting 4 villages with Lagodekhi Municipality has not been subjected to rehabilitation for more than 30 years.  Due to the above-mentioned fact, the road is deteriorated and the village population faces problems while travelling on it.

After road rehabilitation, conveyance will become safe and comfortable.

The road length is 6,1 km, road pavement width - 6 m. The project envisages arrangement of asphalt-concrete pavement and drainage network: culvert pipes, reinforced-concrete gutters, profiled earth canals, etc.  Road marking and road safety works will also be implemented.  There are 60 persons employed at the project site and majority of them are locals.   Construction works commenced in December of 2015 and will be completed this year.
