Rehabilitation works on 4 km road from village Pakhulani to village Saberiode are completed

Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has finalized rehabilitation works of national importance motorway in Tsalenjihka municipality. In particular, rehabilitation works were conducted on 4 km access road from Pakhulani community center up to village Saberioni, which is located adjacent to Abkhazia de facto republic administrative border. Project was financed from state budget and cost equals to GEL 2,323,231.04. Today MDF executive director visited rehabilitated road.   

Rehabilitation of mentioned road is of strategic importance, as it locates adjacent to border of  unrecognized republic of Abkhazia, which is mainly used by pupils and population living in Gali municipality village Saberioni. Pupils  in order to get Georgian education in Pakhulani public school pass several kilometer on a daily basis, this road is also used by more than 3000 locals and internally displaced persons.  

Construction works commenced in 2015 and completed in 2016. More than 60 persons were hired on works among them 50 % locals. Transport movement became easy in Tsalenjihkha municipality, in village Pakhulani located along to Apkhazia administrative border and have facilitated population movement from occupied territories in particular from Gali region to the rest parts of Georgia.

Within the framework of the project besides road rehabilitation artificial structures were arranged and water supply network was arranged along the road.
