Rehabilitation of Geguti Castle Access Road is Ongoing

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing cultural heritage monument, namely Geguti Castle access road rehabilitation works in Tskaltubo Municipality village Geguti.  Today, the First Deputy Minister of   Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili and Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Juansher Burchuladze were visiting the project site.  Geguti Castle access road was depreciated and posed threat to the safety of passengers.  

Road base and two layers of asphalt-concrete pavement will be arranged under the rehabilitation project.  Majority of 15 people employed at the construction site are locals.   Road length is 500 m. It is notable that Geguti Castle access road has never been paved with asphalt before. Civil works are funded from the state budget and cost of works amounts to GEL 134 thousand. Works are being executed by the “Tskaltubo Road Service” LTD and will be completed by the end of current year. As a result of project implementation, conveyance will become safe and comfortable.
