The MDF and ADB Representatives Met Rustavi Population in Connection with Tbilisi-Rustavi Highway Construction Works

In connection with Tbilisi-Rustavi highway construction works, representatives of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia and Asian Development Bank held a meeting with Rustavi population. The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing the project of construction of the 17.4 km long Tbilisi-Rustavi highway, project cost amounts to GEL 96 685 218.40. Representatives of the MDF and donor organization briefed the audience on the named project.  

In particular, the MDF employees and ADB representatives discussed project benefits and safety issues with the locals.   The meeting was mostly focused on the significance of Tbilisi-Rustavi highway, its perspectives, purposes, safety and gender issues. Special attention was drawn to road safety.    The meeting was attended by the MDF representatives, ADB officials, and members of the “Partnership for Road Safety” Fund.

At the meeting, the “Partnership for Road Safety” representative discussed necessity and importance of awareness and observance of safety regulations. Specially prepared information leaflets were handed out to the population.   The meeting was held in Q&A format.

Similar meeting with Rustavi population regarding Tbilisi-Rustavi highway safety issues was held in April of 2015.  It is worthy of note that before project completion the MDF and donor organization representatives will once again meet with the local population.
