1200 families residing in Akhaltsikhe and Aspindza will be provided with 24 hour water supply

Municipal Development Fund of Georgia with EIB financing implements water supply system rehabilitation in borough Aspindza. Cost of the project is GEL 20700728,84. As a result of project implementation 1200 families residing in Akhaltsikhe and Aspindza will be provided with 24 hour water supply. In addition water quality will be significantly improved and water loss will be reduced. Today MDF executive director Juansher Burchuladze along with local government representatives visited ongoing works. 

Rehabilitation of water infrastructure will solve concerns of 600 families regarding water quality and scheduled water supply, in particular as a result of Project implementation water loss will be significantly reduced and water quality will be improved. Currently majority of Akhaltsikhe population more than 600 families are provided with scheduled 10-12 water supply, since project finalization it will be replaced by 24 hour water supply provision.

As for Aspindza population, water supply is provided during 2-3 hour and  in some districts during 6-10 hour. As a result of project implementation this schedule will be replaced by 16-24 water supply provision mode. Project implementation will solve problems existing for years. More than 70 persons are hired on works.

Since the project is executed by  MDF it will be hand over to United Water Company of Georgia.

It has to be mentioned that similar works are implemented by MDF and UWC with EIB financing in 24 countries throughout Georgia. Total cost of the project is more than GEL 100 million.
