Signagi population will be provided with 24 hour water supply

By EIB financing Municipal Development Fund of Georgia in town Signagi implements water supply system rehabilitation. Cost of the project consists of GEL 1,342,388. As a result of project implementation Signagi population in particular more than 900 families will be provided with 24 hour water supply. Currently more than half of Signagi population about 600 families are provided with 2 hour water supply per 24 hour, and 300 families with 8 hour water supply per 24 hour. As a result of project implementation water quality will be improved and water loss will be reduced.  

Civil works were visited by MDF executive director Juansher Burchuladze, first deputy minister of Reginal Development and Infrastructure Ilia Darchiashvili and United water Company director Nikoloz Kizikurashvili.  

Untill this time water was provided to the population based on schedule which was due to insufficient water supply and damaged 9 km network. Currently damaged network is under rehabilitation, also 3 new boreholes will be arranged and one new reservoir with capacity of 100 ton will be constructed.  

Within the framework of the project individual water meters will be installed  for each family. After works finalization concerns of more than 3500 resident of town Signagi will be solved. Water supply system rehabilitation in town Signagi will be finalized in Spring of 2016. Civil works are implemented by Ltd “ Build Industry”.
