Executive Director of the MDF Visiting Manila on Invitation of the Asian Development Bank

Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi City, Irakli Lekvinadze, Head of the Transport Municipal Service, Giorgi Gurgenidze are visiting Manila on invitation of the Asian Development Bank. During their visit Executive Director of the MDF and Deputy Mayor are taking part in the “Knowledge Partnership Week”.  The partnership week organized by the ADB aims at planning long-term projects and strengthening cooperation between the Bank and Georgian side.   

The partnership week is focused on increasing involvement of international organizations in empowerment of partner countries, which especially covers such areas as inclusive infrastructure, innovative technologies, public health and education. 

During his visit, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili will meet top management of the ADB and discuss with them those   projects, which are funded by the ADB and are under implementation in Georgia by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.   Moreover, they will consider following projects to be funded by the ADB and future plans.   

The “Knowledge Partnership Week” includes several sessions. Topics on agenda cover: innovative technologies in the process of urban development,   urban transport, integrated planning of the city, greenways and sustainable development.    Under the partnership week meetings are planned at various levels, where the ADB will present to the participants its own concepts and suggestions regarding named issues and where the needs of partner cities will be determined and areas of cooperation and long-term project strategies will be designed.
