The mission of the International Monetary Fund praised the activities of the Ministry

Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Tengiz Shergelashvili met the representatives of of mission of the International Monetary Fund. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Roads Department and the Municipal Development Fund. Shergelashvili introduced to the guests detailed information about the execution of the first quarter of the budget, as well as completed, ongoing and planned infrastructure projects.

Mission members expressed interest by the issues of construction of the East-West Highway, Rustavi-Tbilisi highway, water supply rehabilitation works and other activities of the Ministry. The two sides, within their competence, discussed the economic processes and the dynamics of the implementation of the budget. IMF representative noted that significant steps have been taken by the Ministry in the implementation of infrastructure projects. The sides discussed the issues of the development of the region and the planned activities, the implementation of which is crucial for the country's progress.

Members of the mission will stay in Georgia for several days. They will hold  similar meetings in the next few days with the heads of other state agencies.
