MDF has arranged 1,5 km access road to St. Pieter-Paul monastery in Bolnisi municipality

 Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has arranged 1.5 stone pavement access road to St. Pieter-Paul monastery in Bolnisi municipality, on Elia mountain, construction of monastery commenced 7 years ago, however access road was in a very bed conditions. Cost of the project is GEL 312456,36  and is financed from the state budget.  Today MDF executive director Ilia Darchiashvili along with Kvemo Kartli governor Paata Khizanishvili and Bolnisi municipality gamgebeli Gogi Meshveliani have opened and checked the quality of the road.     

 

It has to be mentioned that by bishop Ephrem initiative construction of St. Pieter-Paul monastery commenced 7 years ago, however access road was actually unavailable, narrow ground road cut into the rock was the only access road for monastery inhabitants and parishioners.  Referred ground road did not meet standards and was dangerous both for monastery inhabitants as well as for parishioners. As a result of MDF implemented project mentioned problems are fully eliminated and new access road to St Pieter-Paul monastery is now available.  

Length of rehabilitated road is 1,5 km, width  3,5 m. shoulders are arranged on both side of the road. Concrete pavement is arrange on 25 m from the  beginning of 1,5 km road up to  stone pavement, 30 workman was hired on works most of them locals.
