With the View of Forest Restoration MDF Planted 343 Ash Tree Seedlings in Tskhunkuri village, Tskaltubo

Tree planting under the forest restoration project was undertaken by MDF based on the Decree of the Government of Georgia No.2371 of 19 December 2014. Within the forest restoration project, 4-year 343 seedlings of ash tree (European ash) have been planted. European ash is a typical species for local conditions. Fencing of the area where the seedlings were planted is planned (in order to protect the seedlings from animals). Along with planting, the project envisages caring for the seedlings for over 5 years. A year after the planting, survivability of trees will be determined and filling works will be carried out.

According to the requirements of the “Forest use regulation” approved by the Decree of the Government of Georgia No242 of 10 August 2010, LEPL National Forestry Agency has allocated for MDF the territory in Imereti Regional Agency, Tskhunkuri forestry unit, forest quarter #6, litter #9. Forest restoration project has been designed for the above-mentioned areas in accordance with the requirements of “Forest care and restoration rules” approved by the Decree of the Government of Georgia N-241 of 13 August 2010. The project was approved by  National Forestry Agency.
