With Prime Minister initiative construction of 320 room dormitory is in progress

With Prime Minister initiative on slope of lake “Lisi” construction of modern 320 room students dormitory is in progress. Today progress of works implementation was visited by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Minister of Regional  Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Shavlishvili, first deputy minister Giorgi Amashukeli, MDF executive director Ilia Darchiashvili.   

In line with international standards 320 room modern students dormitory will be constructed. For this time foundation reinforcement works of 3 four storey building is finalized. Simultaneously arrangement of basement and concrete works for the foundation are in progress. Construction of 3 residential buildings and administration building is envisaged by the project, also  café, conference hall,  medical service, library, computer room, laundry and other supportive infrastructure. Roads, footpaths, open playground, outdoor gym and external lighting will be arranged. Territory will be accomplished and landscaped.  

Project implementation will improve academic and living condition of IDP and other vulnerable students. Construction is implemented by MDF by government of Georgia’s assignment. Works are financed from state budget and cost consists of  GEL 5.250.77  

 

Hotel type apartments will be arranged in residential building, including several apartments for disabled persons. Accordingly infrastructure of residential building will be totally adopted for disabled persons. After completion constructed complex will be handed over to the Ministry of Education. 320 students will be available to study and live in students dormitory.  Civil works are implemented by Ltd “Saba construction”. Construction is planned to be finalized in 2016.
