Municipal Development Fund will Implement Rehabilitation of “Batoni Castle” in Telavi
Representatives from the Municipal Development Fund under the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia organized public discussion of the project on the Rehabilitation of Erekle the Second’s Castle and Museum in Telavi. Ilia Darchiashvili, executive director of the Municipal Development Fund presented the detailed concepts for the rehabilitation projects. For the high quality and effective implementation of works the final project has been discussed with the experts and stakeholders at the initiative of the Fund. Regional Development Project is implemented under the financing from the World Bank and the Government of Georgia. The objective of project implementation is to facilitate development of tourism and routes’ circle for the cultural heritage monuments in Kakheti Region.

With the View of Forest Restoration MDF Planted 343 Ash Tree Seedlings in Tskhunkuri village, Tskaltubo
LEPL Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI) has planted 343 four-year seedlings of ash tree in the village of Tskhunkuri (Tskhunkuri forestry unit), Tskaltubo municipality. Executive Director of MDF Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili and MDF personnel took part in forest restoration action. Mr. Konstantine Mamiseishvili, Tskaltubo municipality Gemgebeli and students of Tskaltubo #1 და #2 public schools joined the action.

32 Buildings of IDP Families Rehabilitated in Poti
In Poti municipality IDP settlement area, 32 residential buildings have been rehabilitated. External hydro and thermal insulation works carried out by MDF were financed by the government of Georgia.
Today, Mr. Sozar Subar, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, Executive Director of MDF Ilia Darchiashvili and Poty Mayor Mr. Irakli Kakulia visited the rehabilitated buildings and talked with the local population.

Georgia has received 5 million USD grant for improving municipal infrastructure and services in regions
Today a grant agreement has been concluded between Georgia and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), signed by the Minister of Finance - Nodar Khaduri and the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus – Henry Kerali. The ceremony of signing was attended by Ilia Darchiashvili, director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia. The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is the legal entity of pubic law under the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure that will be responsible for disposal of the above grant.

320 internally displaced families were given a house in Zugdidi
LEPL Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI) in Zugdidi municipality has built 10 apartment buildings with the financial support of the German Bank for Reconstruction and Development (KFW). As a result of the project, 320 IDP families were provided with new homes. The project cost is Gel14, 463, 231.73. Over 200 people were employed in the project.

Sports Complex Reconstruction and Rehabilitation in Kaspi Municipality Is Underway
New international standard sports complex will be constructed in Kaspi municipality by the year’s end. Project is implemented by LEPL Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI). Sports complex reconstruction and rehabilitation is financed by the World Bank and costs GEL1 630108,14. Executive Director of MDF Ilia Darchiashvili visited the ongoing construction today. About 30 people are involved in construction works.

Over 3000 Residents in Three Villages At the demarcation line to Have 24-hour Water Supply
Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) with the financial support of the World Bank is carrying out rehabilitation of water supply system in the three villages at the demarcation line, in particular, Gori municipality villages Zeda Nikozi, Kveda Nikozi, and Zemo Khviti. Project cost is GEL3,386,397.86. Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili, Executive Director of MDF and representatives of local governments inspected the ongoing construction works today. As a result of the project, 880 households i.e. over 3000 persons in the three villages will be provided uninterrupted water supply.

Prime Minister Inspected Wide-Scale Infrastructural works in Tskaltubo
Irakli Gharibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia inspected wide-scale construction works undertaken within infrastructural projects in Tskaltubo municipality. Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI) , with the World Bank’s financial support is carrying out complete rehabilitation of Tskhaltubo within the framework of Regional Development project. Project cost is over GEL 38 million, more than 500 people are employed. The work entered the final phase. The major part of the project will be completed by holiday season, and fully - in August.
