The Prime-Minister has Opened a Regional Department of Special Tasks of the Special and Emergency Affairs’ Center in Samtskhe-Javakheti
Prime-Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili together with Davit Shavliashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Vakhtang Gomelauri, Minister of Internal Affairs opened a new structural unit – Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Special Tasks Department. A Department of Special Tasks of Ministry of Internal Affairs was opened in Aspindza. Rehabilitation works for the building were carried out by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili.
Those present at the event were: Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs and MRDI, representatives of the Special Tasks Department and other institutions, Members of the Government of Georgia, representatives of EU, Diplomatic corps, US Embassy and other authorities.
The event was dedicated to the 10th jubilee of emergency center.
The emergency center building rehabilitation project in Aspindza was funded from the state budget and its total cost amounts to GEL 4 276 291.97. There were some 150 people employed under the project. The center rehabilitation works were initiated in 2013 and were completed in October of 2014.
Under the project, the whole old depreciated administrative building got dismantled. Roofing got replaced, façade – plastered and painted, doors and windows – replaced, floor and ceiling – installed; there were plastering and painting works performed in the building; walls got thermally insulated and the heating system was installed; electric wiring was replaced and ventilation and alarm systems – installed; surveillance cameras were installed throughout the area.
Except for rehabilitation of the main building, a new check point building was also constructed under the project. A boiler house was constructed together with a heat supply system. There were closed and open type parking lots and car-wash arranged in this area. The territory is completely fenced with concrete façade block, there is playground and open gym area arranged with artificial surface, the yard is paved with asphalt concrete.
