Ministry presented the annual report - 2014, for the diplomatic corps and the government

Today, at the hotel "Tbilisi Room" the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Mr. David Shavliashvili  presented to representatives of donor organizations, members of the diplomatic corps and senior officials of the government organizations a large-scale operations implemented in 2014 and the major projects planned for 2015. According to David Shavliashvili current year the ministry implemented the most of infrastructure projects (about 890 million GEL worth). In 2014, planned budget - 875 million GEL increased by 60.7 million GEL and became 935. 7 million GEL. Within the frameworks of the projects coordinated by the Ministry, 95% of the budget has been mastered and more than 380 projects have been carried out across the country.

Within the frameworks of the projects carried out by the ministry in 2014, road infrastructure, water supply and sewerage systems, irrigation ditches, historical and cultural monuments have been built and rehabilitated; landfills have been regulated; Liquidation of the results of large-scale disasters have been carried out; Residential buildings for internally displaced persons have been constructed; 82 ambulatory adapted for people with disabilities has been installed in the whole country.

In 2014, a total of 40.1 km of high-speed highway was opened; 303,5  kilometers of roads and 43 bridges have been rehabilitated;  11 new bridges have been constructed.  

Implementation of the new water supply projects have been launched, as a result of more than 300,000 people in Anaklia, Mestia, Ureki, Shekvetili,  Poti, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, will be supplied with water with 24-hour schedule and more than  for 100,000 people in 24 municipalities will have improved water service. 

Important measures have been carried out for development of infrastructure on tourism and cultural heritage facilities. 11 projects in this direction have been completed in 2014; with total value 13.5 million GEL.  In 2014, the project for the construction of Roshka-Arkhoti road has been developed, and construction works will be started in 2015. As a result of cutting the road, more than 30 families are going to return to their homes.

19 priority landfills have been improved with total value - 7.3 million GEL. In order to create decent living conditions for internally displaced persons, 20 projects with total worth 82 million GEL have been implemented. 17 new residential complexes have been built in Poti and Zugdidi and 586 families received new apartments in these buildings. Former hospital buildings have been rehabilitated in Borjomi, Kaspi and Kutaisi and living conditions have been improved for 240 families. 

Drainage systems were arranged and cleaned in 14 cottage settlement. Water supply system and pumping station have been rehabilitated and the additional pumping stations have installed in 16 villages;  Also, water supply and sewerage systems rehabilitation was carried out  in 10 settlements.  As a result of implemented works, living conditions have been improved for 1483 IDP families.

 In 2014, coast protection works have been carried out on 30 facilities. In 2014 construction works have been activated on Tetnuldi ski resort; Developing of the projects for reconstruction and rehabilitation of Chiatura cableways have been started.

Within the frameworks of the Regional Projects Fund and the Village Support Program, more than 14 000 small and medium-sized infrastructure projects have been implemented in the towns and villages of the country.

The presentation was attended by the members of the government, the  diplomatic corps, mayors and governors of self-governing units, governors of the regions, representatives of the various non-governmental organizations and the media.
