Gachedili-Balda Road Rehabilitation is Completed
The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia of the Minsitry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has completed rehabilitation works for Gachedili-Balda road in Martvili Municipality. Today, the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Giorgi Amashukeli was visiting the completed work site together with local authorities.
5 km section of the road underwent rehabilitation works. Concrete roadside ditches, metal culverts and gabions were arranged under the project, and the drainage system got completely replaced.
During several decades, Martvili population was accessing the Monastery via a 5km section of the impassable road.
Apart from the Monastery, the above-mentioned road also connects two villages: Gachedili and Balda and Martvili center. Some 2000 persons will use the present road for conveyance on daily basis. The project was funded from the state budget with over GEL 2 million.
