Rehabilitation of the 110-apartment Residential Building is Ongoing in Kutaisi
110 IDP households will have new apartments by the end of the year 2014. Today, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia - Davit Shavliashvili was visiting the project site.
The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation of another 110-apartment residential building for the IDP-s under the Municipal Infrastructure and IDP Housing Rehabilitation program. Total cost of works amounts to GEL 5,560,000.
The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation of the former hospital building on Otskheli street in Kutaisi, the project is funded by the USAID.
Rehabilitation works for the present project were initiated in February of 2014 and will be completed this year. Under the project 110 IDP households will be presented with new apartments. Out of 110 apartments, 46 - are one-roomed, 52 - two-room and 12 – three-room, 6 apartments are fully adapted for disabled people. Moreover, after completion of rehabilitation works, the residential building and its outdoor infrastructure will get fully adapted for disabled.
In course of project implementation, there are some 120-150 persons employed for construction works, 25% of them are IDP-s.
Each apartment will have fully equipped individual bathroom and lavatory. The kitchens will have water and gas heating devices; There will be playground, parking lot, outdoor lighting network, decorative luminaires, dustbins and such other facilities arranged in the yard.
Upon completion of rehabilitation works, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia together with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, will present keys of apartments to 110 IDP families.
