Tbilisi-Rustavi highway construction process is being implemented in full-scale
MDF executive director Giorgi Amashukeli visited Tbilisi-Rustavi highway construction process. Detailed information was provided to Mr. Amashukeli by winner company ”Sinohidro Corporation Limited” and supervision company “ Dohva” representatives.
Tbilisi- Rustavi highway first and third section construction commencement date is 22 April 2014. Duration of the contract is 17 months. On first stage 1st and 3rd section rehabilitation is being implemented which cost is GEL 88 761 128,95. On works 250 persons are employed including locals. Currently ground, reinforcement, bridge and other required works are implemented.
Tbilisi-Rustavi highway construction project is financed by ADB and government of Georgia and envisages “Tbilisi-Red bridge“ (Azerbaijan border) automobile road Tbilisi-Rustavi section modernization. Design highway tentative length is 17,4 km. Considering highway complexity it is divided in 3 sections.
First section – From intercity station up to “ Marabda”- with length of 4 km. Road crosscut is 6 lines, each width -3,5 m. dividing line width 6- m. sidewalks will be arranged on both side of the road with width -3,5 m. road pavement is of asphalt concrete, on mentioned section viaduct one traffic center and 2 bridge will be constructed.
Second section- Ponichala densely populated area – tentative length 6,9 km. On this section along river Mtkvari new 2 km urban type bypass construction is planned. Road crosscut is 4 line, each line width is 3,75m. Road pavement is of asphalt concrete. On mentioned section traffic centers, 2 underground, 4 bridges and 4 pedestrian bridges will be constructed.
Third section- From “ Socar” station located at Ponichala settlement exit up to Rustavi car market –with length of 6,6 km. Road cross cut is 4 line, each width -3, 75 m. dividing line width is 6 m. Sidewalks are not envisaged, road payment is of cement concrete, on mentioned section one viaduct, one traffic center and 2 bridges will be constructed.
