Sports complex to be constructed in Khobi

Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze, together with the heads of the ministry's sub-departmental institutions, continues to monitor ongoing projects in the regions and check the implementation quality. The Minister visited the Samegrelo region, where he inspected completed and ongoing infrastructural works on site and discussed the details of planned projects with local government representatives.
Rehabilitation of April 9 Alley is planned in Poti, which envisages creation of a modern, ecologically sound and citizen-oriented recreational space. Within the framework of the project, the recreational zone will be renovated, the necessary engineering infrastructure for tree care and adapted recreation areas will be arranged. The minister discussed the details of the project on site with representatives of local and central authorities.
Construction of a new road bridge over the Rioni River along with access roads is underway. The 436-meter, 8-span steel-reinforced concrete bridge and 2-km access roads are an important section of the East-West Highway. The GEL 60.8 million project is financed with a loan from the Asian Development Bank and co-financing from the state budget and will significantly strengthen the country's transit function.
Construction of a modern technical center and an artificial turf stadium with a 300-seat grandstand and fully adapted infrastructure is planned in Senaki, which will contribute to the development of sports and the popularization of a healthy lifestyle among young people.
In addition, a large-scale renovation of the water supply system is underway in the city. The project includes rehabilitation of headworks, wells and pumping stations, construction of new networks and a booster station. After project completion, which costs over GEL 51 million, up to 3,670 beneficiaries will enjoy 24-hour water supply.
Periodic repair works are underway on two sections of the Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze road of international importance, in the territory of Khobi Municipality, which will increase the safety and traffic capacity of the road.
The full rehabilitation of a public school in the village of Kheta, Khobi Municipality, has been completed. The school has been renovated in accordance with international standards and is fully adapted for people with disabilities. Within the framework of the project, classrooms, toilets, sports grounds and a yard area were arranged, and modern engineering systems were installed. The works were financed with GEL 4.2 million from the state budget.
It is also planned to build a modern multifunctional sports complex in Khobi, which is to accommodate swimming pools, gyms, medical and physiotherapy spaces. The infrastructure will be fully adapted for people with special needs.
