The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure is launching design works for renovation of the coastline of the villages Ganmukhuri and Anaklia in Zugdidi Municipality.

The relevant agreement has been signed with the competition winner company, in which the total period for providing services and performing works is set at 8 months.

According to the design, the recreational area will be completely renovated and a multifunctional, year-round coastline will be created.

Infrastructure will be arranged in the territory covering 66.5 hectares, where spaces will be provided for recreation, sports activities and cultural events.

It is planned to divide the coastline into several functional zones: children's playgrounds, educational and cultural spaces, sports grounds, training and recreational zones, walking and cycling paths.

A parking zone will be arranged in the territory in accordance with the overall landscape solution.

The design of the infrastructural part of Ganmukhuri and Anaklia coastline envisages rehabilitation of existing structures. It is planned to arrange an open stage and a decorative lake, and to rehabilitate the pedestrian bridge connecting Ganmukhuri and Anaklia.

The design also provides for the creation of commercial and educational spaces, pergolas, adapted public restrooms, outdoor showers, and fountains.

Planting local plant species, protecting biodiversity, waste separation, and the use of renewable energy sources is planned as well.

In addition, the design envisages installation of modern outdoor lighting, irrigation networks, electricity and water supply, sewage, drainage and security systems.
