Sports and recreational projects planned in Baghdati
WALL Architecture, the winner of the Municipal Development Fund competition, will complete the design of the Bagdati multifunctional sports complex in May 2026.
The multifunctional complex accommodates a sports hall for 250 spectators, children's and large swimming pools, fitness, judo, boxing and wrestling, gymnastics and other sports halls. Choreographic and folklore halls, a media library and spaces for cultural and educational activities are also provided.
Construction of a football technical center is also planned in Baghdati. The project provides for an artificial turf football field with stands for 300 spectators and related infrastructure. In addition, a market survey is underway for preparing the Baghdati Recreational Park design.
The Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze, the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund Beka Urushadze, the State Representative of Imereti Region and the Mayor of Baghdati Municipality inspected the areas designated for development of sports and recreational infrastructure. They also discussed project-related details with design and construction companies.
