Design-construction of soccer technical centers is to begin

 Design and construction of soccer technical centers in 15 Municipalities is to be begin.

 

The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Infrastructure is to commence the design and construction of soccer technical centers in fifteen municipalities. The project undergoes implementation on the initiative of the Prime Minister, and represents one of the important areas of sports infrastructure development.

Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze, together with the Executive Director of MDF Beka Urushadze, met with the representatives of those companies that won the competitions. In the course of the meeting, held at the Ministry of Infrastructure, the main approaches, work processes, deadlines, supervision mechanisms, and quality standards related to construction were discussed.

 

The design and construction of 16 soccer technical centers has begun in Gori, Telavi, Kvareli, Akhmeta, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Akhalkalaki, Akhaltsikhe, Chokhatauri, Ozurgeti, Vani, Samtredia, Chorotskhu, Martvili and Abasha Municipalities.

 

At that meeting, the Minister emphasized that soccer technical centers shall be built to the highest quality standards, and that there will be made no compromises with this regard. As per Revaz Sokhadze, quality control will be ensured at all stages, including all the details of design, supervision, and implementation.

 

According to the Minister, the project is not focused only on the development of soccer. He said that the new infrastructure will create multifunctional opportunities, improve access to basic services, and significantly change the reality in municipalities. Significant financial resources are being allocated to the project, which represents a state investment in the future generation, and the sustainable development of the regions.

 

“This is being done for the children” – it is our duty to create conditions for them to train at high-level stadiums and provide them with real opportunities for development,” the Minister noted.

 

The projects will include the construction of soccer fields with artificial cover, spectator stands, and other necessary infrastructure, such as changing rooms, toilets, and utility rooms.

 

The new sports infrastructure will contribute to the development of sports in the regions, the promotion of healthy lifestyles amongst young people, and the socio-economic strengthening of Municipalities.
