GOG to commence construction of two modern university campuses

The Government of Georgia (GOG) has decided to construct the university campuses of modern standards in Kutaisi and Rustavi Cities.

LEPL Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Infrastructure has been assigned to carry out the measures, required for the construction of that university campuses.

 

As per the instructions of the GOG, MDF will commence to develop the detailed design and cost estimate documentation for the construction of university campuses in Kutaisi and Rustavi, as well as to execute the procedures for procuring the construction works and supervision services, which provides for the creation of a full-fledged university infrastructure on both sites.

 

The project will result in the creation of a modern, regionally distributed university system that will provide students with the education in line with international standards, opportunities for research, and a fulfilling student life.

 

The new university campuses will serve an additional 20 thousand students in Kutaisi, whereas Rustavi will be able to accommodate 40 thousand students.

 

The estimated cost of the project amounts to GEL 800 million, and the estimated cost of appraising and acquiring the real estate in the area of university campuses is GEL 210 million.

 

The infrastructure work, including design, construction and supervision, will be carried out between 2026 and 2032.

The modern university campuses will create new, high-quality spaces for tens of thousands of students and develop the potential of the regions.
