Telavi square and streets undergo intense rehabilitation

Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) Beka Urushadze, together with the representatives of local authorities, visited the site of current works in Telavi within the City and Resort Development Program.

 

The rehabilitation works for streets named after Papuashvili Brothers and Balarjishvili Brothers are under final stage. Solomon Leonidze Str., tunnel and Vachnadze Str. Are being actively renovated as well. Overhead and undergrouns utilities have been regulated, fences have been renovated, and outdoor lighting poles have been replaced. As a result of that, the streets will regain the historical appearance so characteristic for Telavi City.

 

The square adjacent to Vazha-Pshavela Drama Theater is also under renovation process, and a modern piazza-style recreation area is being arranged there. The main works have already been completed – the infrastructure of the fountain and irrigation system has been arranged, and areas for trade and public catering have been organized as well; the construction and finishing works for the Wedding Hall are underway.

 

The program also includes the rehabilitation and renovation of Abano Str. and of so called „Old Baths“.
