Construction of Kindergartens is underway in Becho Village and Mestia Town

Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze, alongside with an Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund (MDF) Beka Urushadze, members of the Parliament of Georgia, and representatives of local authorities, inspected the process of construction of kindergartens in Becho Village and Mestia Town of Mestia Municipality.
Pursuant to the expert opinion, the construction of a kindergarten, designed for 50 children in Becho Village was based on a flawed design that caused serious issues in the course of the construction. Upon suspension of the project, the building was damaged because of heavy snowfall.
Within the same Contract, the construction of a similar kindergarten for 50 kindergarteners in Mestia Town was also commenced, however after the Contract was terminated, the mentioned project was suspended as well.

As the Minister explained, the state prioritizes to ensure the safe and dignified access of the children to education. That is why, after a full analysis of the case, the Ministry of Infrastructure will make decisions to resolve the problem, and resume the construction of kindergartens as per the revised design.
