Rehabilitation of Kutaisi Central Park Completed

June 5, 2025

Within the framework of the “Renewed Regions” program, the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure has completed the rehabilitation of Kutaisi Central Park.

As a result of the project, the city has gained a well-arranged, multifunctional, and fully renovated recreational space.

The original layout of the park was preserved during the rehabilitation, while the infrastructure was entirely modernized, taking into account architectural elements characteristic of the region.

Water supply, sewage, drainage, and automatic irrigation systems were installed; energy-efficient lighting poles were mounted; the existing fountain was renovated and a new one was added. The restoration of the historical colonnades, the establishment of a media library, and additional landscaping in accordance with a dendrological plan have also been completed. Moreover, a new recreational area – the “Rose Alley” – was arranged in the lower part of the park, while the central part now features the “Daisy Square.”

Kutaisi Central Park was established in 1821. In the early 20th century, the city’s central garden served not only as a leisure destination but also as a gathering place for public figures, earning it the nickname “Parliament of Kutaisi.”
