Infrastructural projects in active phase in Rustavi
The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure is actively involved in implementation of infrastructural projects in Kvemo Kartli Region. In Rustavi alone, the MDF has 7 ongoing projects, the total investment value of which exceeds GEL 41.6 million. The projects envisage construction and rehabilitation of schools and kindergartens, as well as construction of two technical football stadiums, which is in active phase.
Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze, together with the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund Beka Urushadze, the City Mayor and representatives of the State Governor's Administration, inspected on site ongoing construction works in the city.
In the near future, The MDF is to complete full rehabilitation of Rustavi Public School No. 21 designed for 830 students. Moreover, rehabilitation works for Rustavi Public School No. 6 are planned to be completed by the end of the year. Classrooms, sports fields, and toilets are under construction in the schools to be rehabilitated; the yard area is to be renovated, and new heating, water supply, and sewage systems are to be installed. Both schools will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
Within the framework of the State Program for “Construction and Rehabilitation of Kindergartens”, construction and rehabilitation of four kindergartens is underway in the city, which is planned to be completed during the current year. These kindergartens are to be equipped with bedrooms, play and administrative rooms, as well as elevators and fire escape. Recreational zones and playgrounds are designed in the yard. Both kindergartens will be fully adapted for children with disabilities.
In order to develop sports infrastructure in the city, construction of the technical football center and two football fields has been initiated. Up to GEL 5 million has been allocated for the project from the state budget. The named works will be completed this year.
