Finalized Construction of Zviad Gamsakhurdia Youth Center and Library in Zugdidi
The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) has finalized the construction of Zviad Gamsakhurdia Youth Center and Library in Zugdidi City.
The library was built in the vicinity of Dadiani Palace. The 3000-square meter building houses a multifunctional center of modern standard that includes a state-of-the-art media library, an amphitheater-type reading room, work, lecture, conference and museum halls, premises for a café and administrative staff.
The concept of the youth center, library and museum implies the creation of such a modern space, which will create appropriate conditions for local youth to develop, process their own ideas, present and implement them.
In the building of the youth center, on the architectural design of which Georgian specialists worked, a tourist-information center is planned to be housed, and in the museum hall, temporary and permanent exhibitions will be organized.
The library building is equipped with modern energy-efficient heating-cooling-air-conditioning systems, fire protection, external and internal video surveillance, a loudspeaker system and BMS (Building Management System) - with the unified management systems. Energy-efficiency materials used in the construction process and installed equipment allow the building to maximize heat retention, thanks to which, its reading, working and lecture rooms of the library have already been equipped with computers and monitors.
The construction project of Zugdidi Youth Center was implemented with a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and co-financing from the state budget, the cost of which amounted to GEL 18.8 million.
