Rehabilitation of Oni Water Supply System
The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Davit Narmania and the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Mr. Elguja Khokrishvili have been visiting the site of rehabilitation works for the head works of Oni water supply system in Oni Municipality. They were also accompanied by local authorities.
In Oni Municipality the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation works for the head works of Oni water supply system, the project is funded by the United States International Development Agency (USAID). Total cost of the project amounts to GEL 927,073.65. The works commencement date was August 15, 2013, and the completion date is June 15, 2014. The project is implemented by the “NDS Mshenebloba”. 7-8 persons will be employed in course of works and major part of employed are the representatives of local population.
Apart from the water supply head works rehabilitation, the project involves arrangement of the head works access road.
Moreover, the project also envisages rehabilitation of the “Kvedruli” water intake structure and watch box. The water treatment plant will be installed, which will be equipped with all requisite facilities (pressure regulator well, water meter well, vertical settler, rapid filter, etc.). Arrangement of the 1000 m3 reservoir, chlorinator, pump station and pressure pipeline is also planned. The head works territory will undergo full improvement.
After completion of Oni water supply system rehabilitation works, major part of Oni population will benefit from the significant improvement of water delivery.
