Rehabilitation Works for Sartichala Water Pipeline System
33-150x150The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Davit Narmania, and the Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Mr. Elguja Khokrishvili visited the site of ongoing rehabilitation works for Gardabani water pipeline system.
On August 20, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Davit Narmania, and the Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Mr. Elguja Khokrishvili visited the site of rehabilitation works for the water pipeline system in village Sartichala .
Local Government authorities also visited the site of rehabilitation works together with the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund.
The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation works for village Sartichala water pipeline system in Gardabani Municipality with the funding of the European Investment Bank (EIB) . Total cost of rehabilitation works amounts to GEL 2, 325, 403.65 .
Rehabilitation works for the above-mentioned project were launched on April 24, 2012 and will be completed on October 15, 2013. The fore-mentioned project is implemented by “Beld Invest” Ltd. 80 persons are employed on site, 80% of them are locals.
After project completion, the population of village Sartichala will benefit from improved water supply and enhanced water quality.
Rehabilitation works for internal network of village Sartichala was implemented under the project, water pipeline system was replaced, which envisaged arranging 33.0 km pipe. All the required connections were renovated. The process of upgrading the chlorination facility with new equipment is already underway. 2 pump stations will be installed. ”SCADA” system will be installed until project completion, that will ensure proper operation of the whole network. A 250,0 m gabion was arranged in the river bed of Iori and water intake reservoirs – at the headworks, a 350,0 m drainage was arranged as well, that will ensure increase of water debit .
It’s worth mentioning that after project completion water supply problem will be solved for the village Sartichala population, therefore project implementation is a very important issue for the locals.
