Tourist Infrastructure Arrangement Commencing next to Lake Paravani and St. Nino Convent

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is commencing the Government of Georgia backed project for arrangement of tourist infrastructure next to the Paravani Lake and Saint Nino Convent located in Ninotsminda Municipality of Javakheti Region. Project cost is exceeding GEL 3 million.
Bidding procedures are already completed and the winner company is revealed to commence construction works in October of current year.
Lake Parvani tourist infrastructure development project involves construction of parking lot in the lake adjoining area, as well as arrangement of the lake embankment and associated infrastructure. Besides, the project also provides for arrangement of footpaths from St. Nino Convent down to the southern lakeside of Paravani.
Arrangement of tourist infrastructure next to cultural heritage monument - St. Nino convent is also envisaged in Nonotsminda Municipality. The project implies rehabilitation of the convent access road, arrangement of parking lot and tourist facilities at the convent entrance, construction of the visitor’s center, tasting room, kitchen and handcraft souvenir shop. Works will also be undertaken for restoration of the architectural monument - Hall House with a crwon-shaped roofing – characteristic of the region, construction of wells and biological wastewater treatment plant for supplying water to the facility and improvement of the convent territory.
Arrangement of Lake Paravani embankment and St. Nino Convent tourist infrastructure in Ninotsminda Municipality will to great extent contribute to increasing tourism potential and promote enhancement of social status of the local population.
