The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is completing second stage works for rehabilitation of Scwab Street in Tetritskaro Municipality village Asureti. The project provides for restoring to their original state the cemetery, church and three residential buildings constructed in the XIX century by Germans living in Asureti.
“The MDF is implementing the Government funded Scwab street rehabilitation project, its cost averages GEL 1.5 million. Arrangement of the cemetery area is already completed, part of it will be used for recreational purposes. Works will be finalized by the current year-end and ultimately Asureti will have a principal magnet of tourism. At the same time, certain water supply-related difficulties came up in conversation with population. We have arrived here with the working group to analyze the problem and solve it in as short a time as possible” – declared Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.
Scwab street rehabilitation project was divided in two stages. The first stage works involved arrangement of cobblestone pavement and concrete ditches on the road, restoring original appearance of fences and gates, rehabilitation of wastewater network, construction of the water treatment plant and installation of street lighting.
