Achkva River-bed Rehabilitation Commencing in Kobuleti

 

In 70-ies of past century, an escape channel was constructed on river Achkva for guarding the city against flooding, however currently it is broken down and blocked and cannot provide for  adequate flow, which results in inundation of   certain areas of the town, including residential houses and land-plots. Rehabilitation project involves rehabilitation of Achkva river-bed and existing escape channel, following which the above-referred problem will be fully solved. 

At this stage, detailed design-cost estimation preparation works are underway and rehabilitation works are expected to commence in Spring of 2019.  The project is backed by the European Investment Bank.
