Motsameta Monastery Tourist Infrastructure Arrangement Works Commencing

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is initiating cultural heritage and tourist zone improvement works in Motsameta Monastery of Tkibuli Municipality. The project is backed by the World Bank and its cost averages GEL 1.4 million.  

Giorgi Shengelia – Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia together with local authorities inspected Motsameta Monastery and its adjoining area. The project envisages reinforcement of enclosure walls, as well as construction-rehabilitation of visitor’s center, parking lot, communication system and toilets.    
The project aims at arrangement of tourist infrastructure, which will create favorable conditions for tourism development in Imereti Region.  
The works will commence in autumn of current year and will be completed in 12 months.
