Bypass road construction started in Bakuriani
The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) has commenced design/build for Bakuriani bypass road. The project undergoes implementation with financial support from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and its cost exceeds GEL 6 million.
Mr. Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of MDF has inspected the current works on site.
There is scheduled the road of approximately 2.5 km length to be constructed within the project. Traffic jams in Bakuriani had been frequent due to absence of the bypass road, hindering movement of tourists and local residents in a comfortable and safe manner. This issue will be completely resolved upon finalization of works.
Construction of Bakuriani bypass road will be finalized in spring 2019. On top of that, Bakuriani-Andeziti-Tsikhisjvari connecting road of approximately 8 km length in Bakuriani is being rehabilitated by MDF.
